Some crops with resistance to certain auxin herbicides as well as new formulations of these auxin herbicides have been developed to combat problem weeds that farmers can not easily control. With these auxin herbicides, training is required that is specified on the labels. To be in compliance, the applicator of these herbicides must receive the training before using the products. The Camden, Currituck, and Pasquotank Extension Centers are jointly conducting with the help of Extension Specialists of the N.C. Cooperative Extension and representatives of the NCDA&CS, Pesticide Section for individuals that will be needing this training to be in compliance when applying these herbicides.  Due to changes in the labels of these herbicides, although individuals may have received training in 2017, people applying these herbicides in 2018 will have to complete this training. The training will be held at the Pasquotank Extension Center located at 1209 McPherson Street, Elizabeth City, NC on Friday, February 2 starting at 10:00 a.m.  If you are planning to attend, please call, 252-338-3954.
