Wednesday, May 16 at the farm of Charles Gray & Sons of Elizabeth City, North Carolina, the Pasquotank Cabbage Variety Trial Showcase was held. Various members of the agricultural community were invited including cabbage growers, Extension agents, company representatives, and consultants. The purpose of the event was to make interested individuals aware of the progress of the cabbage variety trial as well as varieties being evaluated. Below are links to a brochure of the event with a listing of the varieties and the production practices used so far. The projected date for the start of the harvesting of the test is the first or second week of June. Once the yield and other data is compiled, it will be shared with all stakeholders including growers. One of the ways that the data will be shared will be a cabbage meeting that is being planned for late 2018.

A special thanks goes to the Grays for their willingness to help conduct the trial as well as the companies that provided resources to conduct the variety trial.
