The N.C. Cooperative Extension of Watauga County office has scheduled a Professional Landscape Day for Thursday, October 7, 2021, from noon to 4:20 p.m.

This event will be held outdoors at the Boone United Methodist Church covered pavilion, located at 471 New Market Blvd, Boone, NC  28607

The schedule is as follows:

12:00-1:00 p.m.:  Paige Moody:  Solving Business Challenges (1 Landscape Contractors B credit)

1:00-2:00 p.m.:     Paige Moody:  Taking your Business to the Next Level (1                 Landscape Contractors B credit)

2:00-2:10 p.m.:   Break

2:10-3:10 pm:   Dr. Fred Yelverton, NC State Extension:  Controlling weeds in Cool      Season Turf (1 Technical credit NCLCLB, 1 pesticide L,N,D,X)

3:20-4:20 pm:   Amanda Taylor, NC State Extension:  Update on Insect and Disease Issues in the Landscape (1 Technical credit NCLCLB, 1 pesticide L,N,D,X)

Registration is required. To register, use one of the three following options:

Since this will be an outdoor event, we have planned it for the afternoon when it will most likely be warmer, but please come dressed accordingly. We do plan to host another 3-4 hour hands on event next spring/summer before the end of June 2022 when landscape pesticide credits are due. Specific date and details to be announced.

Here are some other options for obtaining 3 more technical credits:

  1. Online and in-person options will be advertised on the NC Landscape Contractors Licensing Board website. Find classes
  2. Online and in-person pesticide applicator credits can be found on the NC Department of Agriculture’s website.
