Pasquotank Cooperative Extension is hosting a home canning workshop on July 21 at 9 a.m. This workshop is designed for beginners who wish to learn the basics of canning. This session will cover the steps for canning tomatoes. Learn the two methods for canning tomatoes. We’ll discuss why some foods require pressure canning, while others can use a water bath method and look at the supplies required for both types of food preservation. Canning can be intimidating, but this class will help you gain the skills needed for safe preservation. We’ll also discuss why it’s important to use reputable information and recipes when preserving at home. To register for the class, please use Eventbrite.
