Wheat is one of the major field crops for northeast North Carolina. The Northeast Ag Expo Small Grain Field Day and test site is one way that the Extension Centers of Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Gates, Pasquotank, and Perquimans County provide much needed information to the growers and other members of the agricultural community. This Extension program is being held in Pasquotank County and the cooperator is K&L Farms located at 987 Cherry Glade Road, Elizabeth City, NC 27909. It will be on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, and will start with a trade show from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m., followed by opening remarks from 9:45 to 10:00 a.m., presentations by Extension Specialists from 10:00 to 12:00 noon followed by a sponsored lunch. This Extension program will provide real-time production information in the area of nitrogen applications as well as other aspects of crop nutrient management, disease management, aspects of grain marketing, insect management, etc. to growers as they manage their 2023-2024 wheat crop. NC pesticide applicator credits (certain commercial categories and producers’ X credits) and certified crop advisors credits will be available.
