Northeast Ag Expo Corn Variety Trial

Northeast Ag Expo Corn Variety Trial in Pasquotank with Charles Gray & Sons

NC State Extension extends research-based knowledge to all North Carolinians, helping them transform science into everyday solutions that improve their lives and grow our state. For farmers that grow crops such as corn, soybean, and wheat, one of the most important decisions they make is deciding what varieties of these crops that they select to plant. When Extension ag agents are asked by growers what are the best varieties to grow, we find answers to that question by conducting variety trials.

The Northeast Ag Expo Team comprised of agents from the Extension Centers of Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Gates, Pasquotank, and Perquimans counties partner with farmers and agribusinesses to conduct variety trials in their counties. It provides yield data and other information produced with our soils, weather, and management practices of the region. Information from these trials are compiled and distributed to growers as well as other members of the ag community. If you would like to see what varieties are being evaluated at the Pasquotank site as well as other locations across northeast North Carolina, then check out the plot plan and location.
